August 05 Spring/Summer catch upIt's been a busy time since Mothers Day and my space is due for a catch up
April brought with it my 50th Birthday. Blimey, I can hardly believe it, my head tells me I'm still a twenty year old - just wish my body felt like one too! I think the most important thing I've learnt is patience. Never had any when I was young, have much more patience and tolerance now. On the down side I'm still just as bloody minded and opinionated - laughs.
I had quite a worrying time when Rob lost all his hair in a matter of weeks. Lots of tests resulting in a diagnosis of "body shock" from having 8 teeth out just prior to the hair loss. It's just starting to grow back.
May saw another Lemonade, a great get together in Burton on Trent with my VLH friends.
At the end of May was Mum's 90th Birthday and we had a party in the garden for her. It was a lovely, sunny day, balloons and cake, the children blowing bubbles ... a happy day.
June and July have been spent working in the garden. Having a go at more home grown veggies this year.
July 28th was our Pearl (30th) Wedding Anniversary. Rob took me to the Isle of Wight for the day so that he could buy me a pearl ring at Isle of Wight Pearls in Brighstone. We took the Fast Cat from Portmouth Harbour to Ryde, buses across the island. Got my ring
Then we went on an open top bus for a tour of the Island and back to Ryde again. From there we walked all the way along the coast to Seaview - took nearly two hours so we got a bus back. Had a nice dinner and then the Fast Cat home.
Last week I got a new washing machine - yippee! My old one was older than the lad who fitted my new one - cheeky git called it an antique -
So there we are, life in Southampton ticks on - before you know it we'll all be talking about Christmas again.
Take care all xx March 21 Happy Mothers DayJanuary 21 The Original and BestI am sometimes reminded of how much young people today have missed. Take Gangsters Paradise. They think Coolio's is the original. But he just ripped it off from Stevie Wonder's Pastime Paradise, written in 1976. Songs in the Key of Life is one of my all time favourite albums, songs full of meaning that are as valid today as they were in the 70's.
Stevie Wonder - the original and best.
